Frequently asked questions
Useful answers.
Before you call.
The details of your door, key or vehicle matter more than the name of the service. Start here for common questions, then call with your specific situation.
A little clarity
before you call.
What should I have ready when I call?
Give the exact address, the door or vehicle involved and what happened. Explain whether a key is lost, locked inside or not operating normally. See the enquiry checklist.
Do I need a new lock when I move in?
The goal is to control who can use a key. A compatible working cylinder may be rekeyed; damaged or unsuitable hardware may need another approach. Start with the rekeying information.
Can all my doors use the same key?
That depends on the lock families, keyways and hardware. List the doors you want included and ask about compatibility before deciding on a change.
Is a stiff key always a damaged lock?
No. The key, mechanism and door alignment can each affect how the lock feels. Describe the symptom and avoid forcing it. Lock repair enquiries start with what you observe.
What is different about a business key change?
The authorized decision maker, affected entrances and people retaining access need to be clear. Our commercial locksmith page explains how to prepare a useful key inventory.
Can a replacement key be made for my vehicle?
Options depend on the particular make, model, year and key system. Have those details and information about any working spare ready; compatibility is confirmed for your vehicle.
My keys are inside the car. Is that the same as losing them?
No. A key locked inside is an access enquiry; a missing last key may require a replacement-key discussion. Tell us which situation applies and exactly where the vehicle is parked.
Does garage door repair mean the side-door lock?
The moving garage door and its pedestrian entrance are different. Explain which one is affected. The garage repair page covers private residential moving-door enquiries.
Is a neighborhood name enough to identify the location?
Belmont Center, Cushing Square and Waverley help with orientation, but the street number, unit and entrance are still needed. For nearby towns, check the location directory and confirm the actual address.
How is the cost confirmed?
Explain the problem and ask what the proposed service includes, how the charge is determined and whether the cost can change after inspection. Agree the work and cost before proceeding.
How do I check current availability?
Call 857-226-3269 with your address and service details. Current availability and suitability for the specific request are discussed when you call.
Are the service images actual completed jobs?
The close-up lock, vehicle-key and garage scenes are illustrative AI-generated images. Local landmark photographs are separate. Details and required photo attribution are available on the About page.
